Ride for the Heart Doundation

Ride for the Heart Riders,

The Ride for the Heart Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank its riders and volunteers for the tremendous amount of support that they have given us over the last six years. Thanks to those efforts, we have been able to raise and donate in excess of $240,000. It is very rare to get the opportunity to work for a worthy cause, meet the greatest group of people in the world, all while having so much fun doing it. We look at each our riders and volunteers as our extended family.

We are certain you know that the goal of the Ride for the Heart Foundation has always been to raise money for worthwhile heart-related charities while raising awareness about cardiovascular disease. Reaching our goals has happened through rider registrations, donations and having you, the rider, participate in our events. This past year (2009) resulted in the lowest rider registration and donation levels since our inception in 2004, which made it very difficult for us to achieve our annual fundraising goals.

During our recent annual planning session we looked forward to scheduling our 2010 events, but we were forced to consider the realities of a struggling US economy and the refocusing of what our riders felt were important to them. With all of this in mind, the Directors of the Ride for the Heart Foundation have decided to make 2010 the year that the team will re-group and plan for its future. Because of that, we are not announcing any new events at this time.

Our future goals include continuing to do what we do best; staging well organized motorcycle events and supporting a variety of different charities. In other words we are not going away; we are simply taking some time to better plan for the future. We will accomplish this by changing the way we put on our events and how we partner with our sponsors, supporters and charities.

Our team will be making announcements in the future that will outline how and when we will stage our next events. We know you are anxious to hear from us; please stay tuned for updates and to learn when we will ride together again.
